Celebrate the New Year!!

Spend six nights in an authentic farmhouse in Tuscany. During the week you will join the owners and your friends in engaging in the authentic tastes of the Italian traditional festival food.

Your hosts for the week will gather fresh ingredients from their farm and with your assistance; you will incorporate the ingredients into warm and delicious comfort foods of the season.  Once you are filled with divine cuisine, you will join your hosts on a journey of discovery throughout the rich and beautiful artistic towns in the region.

On your journeys, you will engage in wine tastings and visit local food artisans, open markets, art workshops and fashion outlets. Upon return from your daily ventures, you will be encouraged to join your fellow travelers for intimate conversation around the fireplace. Ask yourself; is there a better way to spend the ringing in of 2010 than with your closest friends and family in a lovely farmhouse villa in Tuscany?!

Sample Itinerary for the Week

Sunday

Arrival in the afternoon. Forward us your arrival schedule and we'll come to pick you up either in Pisa or Florence airport. Service included in the rate.

20:00 - Dinner: Minestrone with fresh vegetable and crostini
Luganega (sausage) in umido, Polenta with herbs, mixed salad, chocolate salami with Limoncello

Monday

8:30/9:30 breakfast

9:30 - Visit to Volterra: the Etruscan museum, the Roman Spa, the Medieval and Reinassance town, the Baroque Palazzo Viti, the goldsmith and alabaster workshops.

Lunch at the enoteca "la Vena di Vino" and wine tasting.

20.00 - Dinner: Potato and saffron purée Pork roast with dates mixed salad drunken pears in vanilla ice cream

Tuesday

8:30/9:30 - Breakfast
9.30 - Visit to Certaldo, the medieval town, the castle and
the art workshops

13:00 - Lunch: Mixed local cheeses with honey and fruit and mixed salad

16:30 - Cooking class: Mediterranean & Vegetarian
* Penne with broccoli
* Eggplants alla siciliana
* Tuscan salad
* Crostata with apples and pine nuts

Wednesday

8:30/9:30 - Breakfast
9.30 - Visit to the Baroque monastery in Calci and Leaning Tower of Pisa

13:00 - Lunch: Salad with pine nuts and grilled tomino cheese

16:30 - Cooking class: New Year's Eve dinner

* Spicy lentils with eggplant and cotechino
* Risotto with pumpkin and porcini mushrooms
* Chicken with chestnuts
* Chocolate roll and Spumante

Thursday

8:30/9:30 Breakfast
9:30 - Visit to San Gimignamo.

Lunch and wine tasting at the "Fattoria San Donato"

20.00 - Dinner: Artichokes soup with parmesan cheese and crostini, Scaloppine alla pizzaiola, mixed salad

Friday

8:30/9:30 Breakfast
9:30 - Visit to the open market in Pontedera

13:00 - Friday lunch

16:30 - Cooking class: antipasti
* Bruscetta with caramelized onions and Pecorino
* Gnudi butter and parmesan cheese
* Marinated shrimp
* Carpaccio with steamed vegetables

Saturday

8:00 - 9:30 - Breakfast and departures

    The price of this program does not include museums tickets. Guests may choose to spend their time shopping or enjoying a gelato or caffe on their own in lieu of museum visits.

BOOKING AND CANCELLATION POLICY:

Booking deposit is 25% of the total balance due per person and is non-refundable in the event of cancellation by the client.

Reservations made 60 days or less prior to the arrival date requires payment in full to reserve and confirm your placement in the program.

The remaining balance is due in full 60 prior to the beginning of the program. For payments made with credit cards the client grants us permission to process the balance 60 days prior to the date of the visit.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Deposits are non-refundable; 60 days prior to arrival date - a 50% refund of monies paid (less the non-refundable deposit) is available if the client cancels the program. No refund is available in the client cancels the program within 30 days of the booking.
