Visit Florence’s San Lorenzo market with a local chef and prepare a complete Italian menu with her in her home kitchen!

Your host is a master chef who is an English speaking native of Florence and professional chef instructor to many international corporate organizations.Spending a day with her is truly a way to dive-in to the heart of Tuscan cuisine.

Your itinerary for the day:

Your wonderful day begins at 9 am where you will meet near the train station and proceed to the famous San Lorenzo produce market, located in the heart of Florence, where you will learn to shop like a Tuscan native - utilizing only the very freshest seasonal ingredients in your meal preparation.

While visiting the market, you will stop to chat with local vendors and taste their lovely cheese, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil. On your culinary journey, your host will introduce you to the cultural, historical and religious traditions which are so tightly intertwined with Italian food. You will also buy local specialties to taste during the “merenda”, the short break enjoyed while cooking.

Prepping for cooking class

Once you have experienced the flavor of the market, you will join your host in her home to learn to prepare a complete Tuscan menu, from hand-made pasta, gnocchi, or risotto to a meat course with side dish and dessert.

Enjoy a break in your lesson to indulge in a slice of focaccia, salami and a glass of wine. Your final touch is to cook the pasta al dente before sitting down to enjoy your multi-course Tuscan lunch with wine paired with the meal.

Enjoy a nice walk back to your hotel in Florence (return transfer not included)

Pricing Per Person

$300 USD or 225 euro per person for 2 participants

$250 USD or 200 euro each for 3 - 4 participants

Private market tours and cooking lesson are available for solo travelers at a rate of $450 per day.

Please note that this price does not include transportation, room and board or any other excursions. Clients may either choose to walk back to the center of Florence from the chef's home or she will call a taxi for a short ride back to your hotel following the lesson.

Terms of Payment and Cancellation Policy:

Payment is due in full to confirm your lesson. Payment is refundable up to 45 days prior to your lesson. Within 45 days or less of your lesson, your payment is non-refundable unless the class is canceled by the school itself for unforeseen reasons at which time your payment will be returned in full.

We highly advise you to purchase travel insurance in the event of emergency, illness, accident, changes in your itinerary or act of God, which we are not responsible for covering.

Your host is an accomplished chef and writer, author of 2 popular Tuscan cookbooks. She is a native Tuscan chef who teaches classes to professional hotel chefs studying Tuscan cuisine, as well as those home cooks or anyone else lucky enough to book her classes!
