Six-Night Tuscan Culinary Vacation Package

COOK, WINE, DINE, TOUR AND DREAM IN BELLA TOSCANA!

This is a FABULOUS week for *Vegetarians and Lovers of the Mediterranean-Lifestyle!

*Meat may be prepared but vegetarian menu options will be available for vegetarians to enjoy throughout the week

This wonderful culinary adventure offers travelers the unique opportunity to experience hands-on cooking lessons with multi-course meals in amazing farmhouse setting, as well as daily tours of local villages to shop, explore and visit historic landmarks.

You'll even have plenty of time remaining in the day to breathe the crisp Tuscan air while sipping delicious local wine or read a book by the pool........and just imagine: this is wrapped up into one tasty week spent cooking, wining and dining, touring and living like a Tuscan!

Location: The cooking school is located on a hilltop villa located in village of Palaia, surrounded by Tuscan cypress trees in a beautifully restored farmhouse.

It's the combination of delicious food, old and new friends, and good fortune that brings visitors to this land of wonderment, creating the perfect atmosphere for your magical cooking holiday.

6 Night Day Cooking Program and Art/Sightseeing Package Tour
  • 6 nights & 7 days in single/double bedroom with a private washroom (shared if you are sharing a room)
  • Meals at the villa served with Tuscan Table Wine
  • 3 Hands-on Cooking Lessons
  • 2 Half Day Excursions (art towns, medieval villages, traditional art workshops, wineries, open markets): the Baroque Monastery in Calci, Certaldo, Villa Saletta
  • 1 Full Day (unescorted) Excursion to Lucca or Florence (round trip to the train station included but not the price of the train ticket - see "extras" below)
  • 1 Full day Guided (escorted) Excursion to Volterra or San Gimignano (decided per week)
  • 1 Visit to a Farmer's Market
  • Arrival and Departure Transfers from/to Pontedera Train Station or Pisa Airport (on arrival and departure dates only). Schedules must be coordinated with all persons in the weekly program and pickup will be scheduled in the afternoon of the arrival date are from 3 pm until no later than 8 pm.
  • On departure dates, transfers are scheduled between 8 am and 9:30 am only. For early and late departures, the school is happy to contact a taxi service for an additional fee.

SUNDAY

Check-in in the afternoon: pick up service starts at 3:00 p.m.
Welcoming aperitivo

Welcome dinner at the villa (sample menu) to include: minestrone from the garden, sformato with zucchini in crosta, mixed salad, macedonia fruit with gelato

MONDAY

8:30 am - Breakfast in the villa
9:30 – Visit to Volterra and lunch at the enoteca Vena di Vino. It is possible to sign for a Wine Tasting. The cost is 15 euros and you’ll taste 4 great Tuscan Wines.

Lunch at your expense - not included (approximately 15 euro for budgeting purposes)

5 pm– Cooking Class Focus: A Southern Vegetarian Supper with a menu to include: Lasagna with eggplant, Sweet and sour peppers, Stuffed and baked zucchini, Brutti e Buoni cookies

TUESDAY

8.30 - Breakfast in the villa
9:30 - Visit to the medieval walled town of Certaldo. Several art workshops and the best cappuccino ever!

1:30 - Lunch back at the villa:assorted local cheeses with honey and fruit,mixed salad, fruit

After lunch, free time to relax on your own in the afternoon - take a relaxing nap or sit unter the Tuscan sun and read a book while you gaze off into the distance and breathe the fresh Tuscan air!

5:00 pm – Cooking Class Focus: A Tuscan dinner, risotto with pumpkin and mushrooms, chicken “alla Toscana”, salad with pears and pecorino cheese, crostata with figs and rosemary

WEDNESDAY

8:30 am- Breakfast at the villa
9:30 am - Visit to the Baroque monastery of Calci 1:30 pm – Lunch at the villa: salad with savoy cabbage and beans, bruschetta with scamorza cheese, fresh fruit

Relaxation time on your own. Basque in the glow of the Tuscan sun or relax in the shade of a Cypress tree!

5:00 pm - Cooking Class Focus: A Northern Italian Dinner: Brasato al Chianti (beef stew with vegetables and wine), Potato ring ( three flavors baked mash potato), Cipolline with amaretti, Bunet (chocolate pudding)

THURSDAY

8:30 am - Breakfast at the villa
9:30 am -Transfer to Pontedera train station where you will take a train on your own (unescorted) to either Florence or Lucca.

6 pm - Your hosts will pick you up later in the evening (approximately 6 pm - confirmed time set on the day of the excursion) at the Pontedera train station and you’ll have dinner back at the villa with the group.

Prior to your journey, you'll be provided with all the information, suggestions, tips and the train schedule. Please note that lunch today is by your own, at your own expense so you'll want to bring cash/credit cards along with you on your excursion (For budgeting purposes, lunch is typically around 15 – 20 euro per person)

8:00 pm - Dinner at the villa: spaghetti “pommarola”, chicken breast in balsamic vinegar, mixed salad, dessert

FRIDAY

8:30 am - Breakfast at the villa

9:30 am - Visit to the farmer’s market in Pontedera

1:30 – Lunch at the villa: Free afternoon devoted to relaxation and enjoyment, with activities of the house: a long walk in the woods, an afternoon at the pool (in warmer months) or just reading a book on the lawn.

8:00 pm – Dinner at the villa - Italian barbecue
- Assorted bruschetta
- Grilled vegetables
- Gelato

SATURDAY

Breakfast and departures between 8:am and 9:00 am

9:30 am - arrivederci until next time!

1500 Euro Per Person, Based on Double Occupancy

BOOKING AND CANCELLATION POLICY

Booking deposit is 25% of the total per person (non-refundable)

Reservations made 60 (or less) days before the arrival date requires the payment of the full rate.

Balance is due in full no less than 60 prior days to the first date of your confirmed program.

For payments made with credit cards the client grants us permission to process the balance 60 days prior to the date of the visit.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Deposits are non-refundable; 60 days prior to arrival date = a 50% refund of monies paid to us only (less the non-refundable deposit).

No refund is available in the client cancels the program within 60 days or less of the first date of their confirmed program.

We highly advise you to purchase travel insurance in the event of emergency, illness, change in your itinerary, accident or act of God, which we are not responsible for covering.

No refunds will be provided for any non-refundable amounts paid unless the class or course is canceled by the school due to unforeseeable reasons and in this instance, we are not held responsible for anything other than refunding the monies paid to us only. Under no circumstances shall we be held responsible for any additional refunds of purchases made by the students for travel related expenses, or otherwise.
