A relaxing five day, hands-on cooking vacation

About the Cooking School in Tuscany (Chianti region)

Learn to live like a true Tuscan native during this wonderful week of cooking in an authentic stone farmhouse deep in the heart of the Chianti region of Tuscany.

During your week in a hillside borgo of Radda, you will indulge in wonderfully intense flavors that define the fresh ingredients used to create delicious Tuscan dishes, accompanied by bold Chianti wines. By the end of the week, you feel like a true native - relaxed and refreshed - and full of great food, wine and conversation.

Participants cook and eat dishes prepared using fresh, natural ingredients. A complete meal such as appetizers, a pasta dish, a vegetable or meat dish and then a dessert is prepared each day and is accompanied by the wine.

Your itinerary:

Day 1   

6:00 pm - Arrival by bus from Florence

Transfer by private car to your charming farmhouse in the hillside of Chianti - your home for the week!

Time to settle in and freshen up before joining the other guests during your lovely welcome dinner with the host family. Enjoy a good night sleep in the clean air of the Chianti hillside and dream of all of the wonderful delicacies you will enjoy during your week in this breathtaking area.

Day 2   

Breakfast with the family

Hands-on cooking lesson. You and your fellow cooking students will prepare a delicious meal together, based on 4 or 5 different recipes featuring seasonally fresh Tuscan products.

Lunch based on the fruits of your labor

Lunch - you will join your group at the table for a meal based on the recipes you learned during your class, accompanied by delicious local wines.

Free afternoon for relaxing with a good book in the garden or in front of the fire during wintertime or walking around discovering the area

Dinner at home, discussing the Italian culture

Day 3   

Breakfast with the family

Hands-on cooking class. You will prepare a multi-course menu featuring traditional Tuscan family recipes.

Lunch with your group to include meal prepared during your cooking lesson, accompanied by local wine

Wine tasting

Guided excursion in the Chianti area - visiting wineries, ceramics shops and beautiful cultural sites

Dinner at home, talking about Italian culture

Day 4   

Breakfast with the family

Tuscan Foccacia

Hands-on cooking class. You prepare together 4 or 5 different recipes based on the Italian culture and seasonally fresh cuisine.

Lunch with your group following the cooking lesson

Free afternoon for relaxing with a good book in the garden or in front of the fire during the winter or walking around discovering the area in all of its glory in the warmer months.

Dinner at home, talking about Italian lifestyle and culture.

Day 5  

Breakfast with the family

Farmhouse cucina

Hands-on cooking lesson learning to prepare multiple
Tuscan recipes followed by lunch with your group enjoying the fruits of your labor

Join your hosts on a guided excursion for a cultural visit and shopping opportunity

Dinner at home engaging in conversation about Italy and the Italian culture and lifestyle.

Day 6  

Breakfast with the family

Hands-on cooking class. Your group will learn to prepare multiple Tuscan recipes.

Lunch with your group, based on the fruits of your labor.

Transfer by private car to Greve and bus connection to Florence*

DEPOSIT

Upon confirmation of availability, a deposit of 30% and the completed and submitted registration form will secure your reservation.

Final payment is due in full 60 days before your arrival date. If you are booking this class within 60 days of arrival, payment is due in full at time of booking to confirm your class. We will also need a credit card number to reserve your hotel room to cover incidentals and other personal expenses at your hotel during your trip.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you cancel your class at least 45 days prior to your date of arrival, a 50% refund will be made (less a $50 per person, non-refundable booking fee). If less than 45 days, no refund will be made for any reason. This is non-negotiable.

Should the school need to cancel your class, a full refund, less a $50 per person, non-refundable booking fee, will be made.

Ciao Laura, LLC reserves the right to alter its programs at any time due weather or other unforeseeable occurrences. In this case, we will work with the client to provide alternative arrangements; however, there are no guarantees. No refund or make-up classes will be provided to students who miss their scheduled classes due to illness or other reason.

Travel insurance is highly recommended
